The truck is a specialized vehicle which is initially designed for different transportation purposes. The truck is a heavier vehicle as compared to conventional automobiles and differs in basic construction as well. A truck has more powerful and heavy engine, it is considered more powerful. Lighter Trucks

Lighter trucks weigh almost 6,300 kg with a unibody construction where the structural support is provided to the vehicle and used for light hauling as well. Light trucks always include mini vans, pickup trucks, sports utility vans and full-size vans. Light trucks use the same kind of transmissions, engine, and brakes as automobile cars. 

Medium Trucks

Medium trucks weigh almost 15,000 kg and they are used for local freight delivery, garbage trucks, and dump, etc. The engine capacity of medium trucks always has larger engine capacity and rear axle for carrying the extra amount of weight.

Heavy trucks

Heavy trucks are almost the same weight as 15,000 kg and they are also for pull trailers. Trucks are also called as a tractor-trailer or semitrailers trucks. Most of the heavy trucks have two type of drive axle known as the dual tandem. Light and medium trucks mostly powered by gasoline while the heavy trucks utilize large diesel engines. Trucks are usually constructed on a strong metal frame called as chassis which provides support to the truck weight as well.
